Snowy Wales

It is about 8 days to Christmas and we have come to Llanon, Wales to visit my brother and his wife. Although Rosie went to Essex and won't be here until Sunday. Steven is playing host and doing a very good job.

It started to hail last night and then this morning we awoke to around 6' of snow.

We hope to go into Aberystwyth tomorrow to the Christmas market; Steven's car has four wheel drive so fingers crossed.

This is a view from the front door.

David's 60th Birthday Trip

So the plan has always been to have a couple of months traveling around Australia and various places along the way. Due to the recession and airmiles it looks like this will not happen until a year or so later.

So we now have to decide what we want to do, we still want to have a trip but it will have to be for a shorter period of time and to to as many places.....

Watch this space to see how the travel plans develop.

Just to remind people so D doesn't sulk, his 60th isn't until December 7th 2011.

It snowed today

Salaam

Woke up this morning and it was snowing, not somthing I want to see at this time of year or any time of year in England. Generally when it snows the whole place comes to a stand still, we are just not prepared for the extremes of cold or heat.
Just thinking about Christmas shopping, I went to Leeds with my daughter on Friday to look for presents but came back with nothing. Nevermind I am taking David there for his birthday next weekend, we will stay Friday night in the town and go out to each somewhere. Maybe the Italian we went to on the last night we were all together in Leeds.
I will try to put some photographs up for you all to see...

Weavers Shed

David took me to a local restaurant the' Weavers Shed' to celebrate my graduation, we also stayed the night.

Graduation

Well I have now lost the will to live, part way through my blog the computer locked and I lost the blog I was writing. David said I should have saved it! Yeah well I didn't so this is now a much shorter version, as I can't face writing it all over again!

So I graduated on Tuesday and the actor Patrick Stuart as chancellor of the University of Huddersfield congratulated me.

Graduation tomorrow

Hi

I bought a pumpkin for Halloween but went to Leeds for the week and didn't do anything with it. At the weekend I made it into pumpking pie, it was very nice.

I shall be going to the University of Huddersfield tomorrow to attend a graduation my graduation ceremony. I have put a picture up of my friend Christine on my page, she graduated today and is now a qualified further education teacher in the Lifelong Learning sector.
Why do we have to wear silly hats?

After Leeds Culture

Hi

After years of saying I didn't have time in my life to do a blog it looks like I have found the motivation to write one.

Thanks to the improving language and culture through ICT course David and I have just been involved with I have a blog set up. Lilian did this for me as an example to the class, now I feel that I should try to keep up to it. A way of keeping in touch with the group I think. They were a great bunch of people and we had a good time, sadley we said good bye on Sunday and people went back to their respective countrys.
